by | Oct 17, 2024 | Engineering and How-To | 0 comments

The Dynagen TE-410 Panel is a versatile and powerful tool for controlling engine-driven pumps, widely used in agricultural irrigation and industrial applications. Known for its reliability and ease of use, the TE-410 allows operators to manage engine and pump performance efficiently with features like automated engine start/stop, fault monitoring, and comprehensive system feedback.

With FarmHQ’s recent integration capabilities, users can now take their pump control to the next level. By pairing the TE-410 with FarmHQ, you can remotely start and stop your engine and pump from anywhere via a smartphone, ensuring maximum control and flexibility. This integration enhances the convenience and efficiency of managing your irrigation systems, saving time and reducing the need for physical presence at the pump site.

Benefits of Using the Dynagen TE-410 Panel

The TE-410 provides several essential features:

  • Automated Operation: Start and stop the engine automatically based on system demands, without the need for manual intervention.
  • Fault Protection: The panel continuously monitors the engine and provides protection from a range of common faults like overheating, low oil pressure, or low fuel.
  • Customizable Settings: Users can configure multiple settings like engine speed, cooldown time, and input/output functions to optimize engine performance.
  • Ease of Use: The TE-410 features an intuitive menu system, allowing easy setup and adjustments even in the field.

These features are critical for maintaining efficient operation, particularly in agricultural or industrial environments where maximizing uptime is essential.

FarmHQ Integration: Remote Pump Control and Automation

By integrating FarmHQ with the TE-410 Panel, you gain the ability to remotely manage your pump system with just a few taps on your phone. But this integration doesn’t stop at remote control. FarmHQ also enables other devices in its ecosystem to send signals to the pump, allowing for automatic remote start/stop based on real-time conditions. This opens up a world of possibilities for fully automating various aspects of farm operations without requiring manual input from the farmer.

For example, FarmHQ can be connected to moisture sensors, flow meters, or weather stations. These sensors can send signals to the TE-410 panel, triggering the pump to start or stop based on predefined conditions like soil moisture levels, water flow rates, or changing weather conditions. This not only saves time but also ensures that your irrigation systems are running at optimal times, reducing water waste and improving overall farm efficiency.

Key Benefits of FarmHQ Integration for Automation

  • Remote Start/Stop: No need to physically visit the pump site. Simply log into the FarmHQ app, and you can start or stop the engine in seconds, saving time and labor.
  • Automated Pump Control: Connect FarmHQ devices like moisture sensors or flow meters to the system, and your pump can automatically start or stop based on real-time data, without manual intervention.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: FarmHQ provides real-time data about your pump system, allowing you to stay informed of any issues, monitor engine performance, and optimize irrigation schedules.
  • Increased Efficiency: Automated systems minimize downtime, respond immediately to changing conditions, and ensure your pump is running only when necessary.
  • Cost Savings: By reducing unnecessary travel to pump sites, saving fuel, and automating your operations, integrating FarmHQ can deliver significant savings over time.

How to Integrate FarmHQ with the Dynagen TE-410 Panel

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to integrate your FarmHQ system with the Dynagen TE-410 to enable remote control and automation of your pump.

What You Will Need:

  • FarmHQ Pump Installation Bundle

Before You Begin:

  1. Install the FarmHQ Device: Ensure that your FarmHQ device is installed and added to your account, and that it is configured as an “On/Off Pump” within the FarmHQ app.
  2. Determine Digital Input for Auto Start/Stop: This guide uses Digital Input B for auto start/stop, but any digital input on the panel can be used.

Step 1: Splice the FarmHQ TC-3 switch cable to the TE-410 Connector

  1. Splice the wire from either pin 1 or 2 (+Battery) to the normally-open “NO” (RED) wire on the FarmHQ TC-3 switch cable.
  2. Splice the wire from pin 6 (switched input B) to the common “COM” (BLACK) wire on the FarmHQ TC-3 switch cable.

Step 2: Configuration on the TE-410 Panel

  1. Set remote start input to “Switched input B” (this should already be the default configuration).
  2. Open the menu on the TE-410 panel.
  3. Select “Switched I/O”.
  4. Select “Switched IN B”.
  5. Select “Function” and set it to “Start/Stop”.
  6. Select “Active Mode” and set it to “Auto”.
  7. Select “Trigger” and set it to “Close to BAT+”.

Step 3: Adjust Engine Speed (Optional)

  1. Select “Sensors”.
  2. You may need to input a password. The default is “0000”.
  3. Select “Engine Speed” and navigate to “Speed Settings”.
  4. Adjust rated speed (default is 1800 RPM).
  5. Configure the intermediate speed (dwell at that speed for default 100 seconds).

Step 4: Engine Cooldown Sequence (Optional)

  1. Enable cooldown by selecting “Timers”.
  2. Select “Engine Logic” and adjust the Cooldown time.
  3. Enable the switched output for “Cooldown”.
  4. Navigate to “Switched I/O”, then “Switched OUT D”, and finally select “Events”, choosing “Cooldown”

Step 5: Using the Remote Control Using FarmHQ

  1. Ensure the that engine controller is in AUTO mode
  2. Open the FarmHQ App and navigate to the device’s Controls menu.
  3. Press Turn On Water. The engine should begin its startup sequence within 10 seconds.
  4. Press Turn Off Water. Use this command to remotely stop the pump.
