Gienger Farms is a third-generation dairy farm that grows grass and corn for animal feed. While much has changed since their grandfather owned the business, they still irrigate using his hard hose reels. In order to save time and improve safety controls when they fertigate with manure, they wanted to automate their irrigation, but they were unable to purchase new, expensive equipment.

The Solution

After installing FarmHQ themselves on their reels and pumps – they say it was an “easy setup” – the Gienger’s spend less time on irrigation and more time on other priority projects. They “really enjoy” the option to shut off their reels and pumps remotely without having to drive out to the field – and knowing that the pump will shut itself off if the reel stops for any reason.
