Introducing the FarmHQ Irrigation Analytics Portal

FarmHQ has released a suite of new reporting tools to support our customers’ data access and compliance needs. These new dashboards, built on Grafana, a state-of-the-art open-source analytics platform, are available free of charge to all FarmHQ customers.

The dashboards provide real-time insights into irrigation system performance, water usage, and compliance reporting. This tutorial will walk through how to access the dashboards, their key features, and how growers can use them to optimize their operations.

We encourage all customers to reach out with questions, feedback, and feature requests so we can continue to refine and expand these tools.

From the FarmHQ Web Application (app.farmhq.com):
1. Click the yellow farm icon in the top-right corner to open the main menu.
2. Click on “Analytics Portal” to open the dashboards.

From the FarmHQ Mobile App (iOS & Android):
1. Tap the “More” tab in the bottom-right corner.
2. Tap “Analytics Portal” to access the dashboards.

You will be redirected to a web browser window. If you are not already signed in, enter your FarmHQ username and password to log in.

The FarmHQ Analytics Portal currently provides three dashboards, each designed to help growers understand their irrigation data at different levels of detail.

Farm Dashboard

The Farm Dashboard provides a high-level overview of all equipment on the farm and displays detailed historical water usage totals for all configured flowmeters.

• View total water usage over customizable time periods.
• Track system-wide trends in pump runtime, flow rates, and pressure.
• Click on any farm component to access more detailed data in the Device Dashboard, or Field Dashboard.

Device Dashboard

The Device Dashboard allows users to select a specific device added to their FarmHQ account and view historical data for that device.

• See detailed pressure, flow, and other key performance metrics for each device.
• Understand historical trends at an individual device level.
• Investigate performance at specific points in time to diagnose issues or optimize irrigation.

Field Dashboard

The Field Dashboard helps customers track irrigation records for their individual fields.

• Select any configured field from the FarmHQ app to view irrigation history.
• Currently, this dashboard supports hose reel irrigation history, with support for center pivots and linear irrigators coming soon.
• Compare application depth, duration, and frequency across different fields.

At the top of every dashboard, users will find filters that allow them to customize their view and focus on the most relevant data.

Time Filter

• Found in the top right-hand corner of all dashboards.
• Users can select a specific time range to analyze historical data.
• Click and drag on any chart pane to zoom into a detailed time range.

Dashboard-Specific Filters

• Farm Filter (Farm Dashboard): Allows selection of a specific farm to filter data.
• Device Filter (Device Dashboard): Includes a device filter to view historical data for a selected device.
• Field Filter (Field Dashboard): Has a field filter to focus on irrigation records for a specific field.

These filters allow growers to drill down into specific data points, making it easier to analyze performance, detect trends, and troubleshoot issues.

Data from any dashboard panel can be downloaded in just a few clicks.

1. Hover over any panel and click on the three small dots at the top right corner to open the panel menu.
2. Select “Inspect” then click “Data”
3. Choose your desired file format, then click “Download”

These dashboards are a work in progress, and we are continuously improving them based on customer needs.
